dna13 enhances PR automation tool’s monitoring and measurement capabilities

Outlook integration, inclusion of additional monitoring sources and enhanced media monitoring capabilities bring greater flexibility for management to PR professionals worldwide

Ottawa, ON, Canada – September 07, 2007 - dna13 today released an update to its suite of public relations, communications and stakeholder management software for greater customization and improved efficiency of daily PR tasks. New features within dnaEnterprise™, dnaProfessional™ and dnaMunicipal™ include integration with Microsoft Outlook, improved search capabilities and enhanced analytics. Complimenting an already comprehensive list of content providers, dna13 now offers content from BurrellsLuce.

dna13 is empowering its customers to have greater control over their media monitoring search results by providing users with greater customization of search terms and rules. Companies that struggle with heavy media volume now have the ability to pinpoint accurate and more relevant media results. Companies are also able to “teach” the software to deliver the right results quickly, thereby saving time.

“Many of our customers have large advertising expenditures, which mean their consumer advertisements tend to appear in broadcast monitoring search results. This means a lot of wasted time looking at irrelevant hits,” said Chris Johnson, CEO, dna13. “With this functionality, our customers are able to organize their search terms more efficiently and allocate resources towards higher priority deliverables.”

In a culture dominated by electronic communication, businesses also require the ability to log emails from contacts and journalists, assign them to corporate campaigns or industry issues and make them accessible for reference by team members around the clock. With accountability a critical concern in communications management, methods such as printing or forwarding emails, are no longer sufficient. By integrating dna13 communications and stakeholder management software with Microsoft Outlook, dna13 is effectively synchronizing communication and message delivery between stakeholders and their teams.

“This update from dna13 will be good news for PR professionals who handle email communication from journalists and stakeholders on multiple issues every day,” said Nicole Guillot, VP New Products for CNW Group, a communication services company that has integrated the dna13 application within its MediaVantage service in Canada. “The challenge they face is keeping their colleagues informed of the latest developments. dna13 can help ensure that vital conversations occurring via email threads are accessible and trackable in real-time for all team members, no matter where they are located.”

What’s included in this update?

Features included in the latest dna13 software:

  • Attach Files to Saved Coverage: For example, images of a newspaper front page demonstrating an article’s prominent positioning can appear within clip books.
  • Ability to Publish Media Coverage to Non-Portal Users: Anyone can be given the ability to view media coverage generated by the dna13 portal.
  • Ability to Compare Saved Media Coverage in Graphs: Users can publish reports comparing the analytics of saved media coverage such as tonality and brand mentions.
  • Media Circulation Integration: Use print media circulation data from SRDS to improve analytics.
  • Enhanced rating options: When saving media coverage, enhanced rating options include tonality, prominence, brand mentions and exclusivity.
  • Monitoring Search Enhancements: Users can now filter their searches using a ‘less like this’ sliding scale function. Organizations with search terms commonly used in vernacular or those with advertising tag lines being picked up by current monitoring services will largely benefit.
  • Microsoft Outlook Integration: Email conversations, contacts and events can be imported to the dna13 portal, assigned to a campaign or issue and made visible to portal users.
  • Integration of the BurrellesLuce Monitoring Service: Portal users will now have access to all monitored content, including radio, community newspapers and magazines from syndicated and freelance sources.
